A family of seven visits Kansas City Community Kitchen (KCCK) three times a week. As the mother works part-time, the meals provide support to make ends meet this summer. Our community continues to struggle with individuals, families, seniors, and children not knowing where their next meal may come from each day, especially throughout the ongoing pandemic. Families know that they will receive a made-from-scratch meal that includes a protein, fresh salad, small side dish and tasty fruit, without any need to complete an orientation, pay a fee, or fill out a long application through NourishKC program services.
NourishKC has continued to provide fresh and nutritious meals to anyone that visits KCCK each weekday from 11 am – 2 pm. So far in 2021, NourishKC has served 90,971 meals, averaging 13,000 each month, aiming to serve 160,000 by the end of the year! We have been able to accept nearly 200,000 pounds of food from local vendors, preventing it from being wasted food. Through community partnerships we have graduated 12 high school youth during the past twelve months in our Culinary Training Program.
Please consider a gift to support the mission of NourishKC. Gifts of any size make a difference and remain in Kansas City to feed our neighbors. We thank you in advance for your commitment to making healthy meals accessible throughout the next twelve months.
NourishKC is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization (EIN 43-1525298). No goods or services were provided by NourishKC in return for the above in-kind contribution(s).
