NourishKC Announces Interim Executive Director
Mandi Jean Retter to lead organization aimed at addressing food insecurity
Kansas City, Mo. – Jan. 31, 2023 – NourishKC, a Kansas City non-profit dedicated to addressing food insecurities and promoting healthy outcomes, has announced Mandi Jean Retter will serve as the Interim Executive Director of the organization.
The board of Directors has launched a nationwide search for a permanent Executive Director to replace Sue Fenske, who recently left the organization.
Ms. Retter is a Kansas City native, with family roots going back over 155 years, and has been with NourishKC since December 2022; most recently in the role of Advancement Director. Retter brings a strong background in community engagement and a deep understanding of the organization’s mission and vision. In considering her role in this critical time for the organization, she offered the following thoughts:

I look forward to working with the board, staff, volunteers, and partners to continue our important work of addressing food insecurity in our community. I remain committed to ensuring that all members of our community have access to nutritious food and look forward to furthering NourishKC’s mission and vision through the expansion of our food rescue and culinary training programs.”

The search for NourishKC’s next Executive Director will be overseen by NourishKC’s Executive Committee Board members.
