Culinary Training Program
NourishKC’s Culinary Training Program is a 10-week intensive, entry-level program that provides basic culinary skills, job training, and hands-on experience in the food service industry.
Instruction and activities are designed to help students determine if the food service industry is a career path they might be interested in. Throughout the program students will have the opportunity to explore new areas of employment interests and learn important job skills. Students also build a network of references and strengthen the confidence they need to land their future job.
During the training, students will gain familiarization with tools and equipment, kitchen organization, recipe conversions, and professionalism. The training program provides the basic competencies of chefs, cooks, and food service workers, as well as general food knowledge and nutrition. Emphases are placed on professionalism, food safety, and basic food preparation.
